YES! They will cause you to burn. I learned the hard way. I made my own body butter, scented it with citrus bliss and various citrus oils. I couldn't understand why when I was outside watching soccer games I would come home burnt (I don't burn easily). Then the light bulb went off and I remembered about citrus oils causing sun sensitivity.

My 2 year old grand daughter is allergic to sunscreens so I was considering trying the recipe with the combination of helichrysum and FCO. Or one that also included lavender. My question was about the coconut oil. People use tanning oils that have coconut oil in them to tan. How is this keeping a person from burning? Or is this a completely different type of oil. I didn't want to try it til I had talked to others that have tried EO.   Thanks
