[Everything doTERRA] Cats and New to Oils

Hi
There are two over the counter products for dogs and cats One is called Organic Healing Ear Cleaner. You can make your own based on the ingredients infused mullein oil and witch hazel, organic esssential oils: calendula and rosemary
The product is made in Oregon   541-968-2164 is the number for MadAboutOrganics.com

The other product called Ears All Right: aloe vera gel, (alcohol, glycerine), calendula, rosemary, myrrh and cinnamon extract.

You can take fractionated coconut oil, or just melt a little solid coconut oil and add a drop of each of the oils you want to use.  Basil also is a good one.

You can also try an oil made for human ears- mullein and St. Johnswort and calendula infused in olive oil.

good luck,
Judy

My cat and two dogs have no issues with me using or diffusing any essential oils. My moms cat however walks funny and throws up every time she diffuses anything. Now she puts them on her feet with socks or takes them internally and the cat is fine.

Hello all and first time posting~

I have just been introduced to the wonderful world of oils within the last two months.  My question has to do with cats.  I have read that EOs are not good for cats.  Is that ALL EOs or is it limited to a few oils.  I give my cat coconut oil in his food and it has really helped his coat be shiny and healthy.  He has inflammation in one ear and it seems he has had inflammation for many years but the vet I had taken him to previously told me it was mites.  The new vet he is seeing specializes in ear issues and has diagnosed my cat with polyps which were surgically removed last week.  Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with my cat scratching that one ear so roughly that he caused damage to the ear and resulted in blood all over my bed.  The prognosis is that the ear canal needs to be removed.  Quite pricy at $3k.  I don't have that kind of money.  I was basically told that the only way he will get better is with the surgery.  Otherwise, he will have to remain in the Elizabethan type collar for the rest of his life to prevent him from tearing his ear off.

Any suggestions as to what I can do to help him?  I Reiki him often and it calms him.  I'm a licensed massage therapist and give him two massages daily which he loves.  It isn't enough and his issue will progress according to the vet.

Thank you very much for your kind responses!
