Re: [Everything doTERRA] Nursing

If your breastmilk supply is fine, I wouldn't worry about it one lick. ;)

That said, there are some people who react negatively to the oils - usually peppermint and/or jasmine. Back in November I put two drops of Whisper (which has jasmine) on and pretty much killed my milk supply two days later. I was only able to pump 2 ounces out that day, not enough to sustain a baby's needs. I had to dip into my frozen milk supply while I worked very hard to get my flow back to par. Lots of rest, water, Mother's Milk tea and basil oil. Eh, and bottle of beer a day too, but I don't think that did too much. :) Knowing what I know now, I would add fenugreek to boost the milk supply.

I just simply avoid all jasmine. No Whisper for me, no Anti-aging Moisturizer. Somebody I'll be able to use them, but not for now.

Peppermint... for a while it was definitely hurting my supply, but now a little exposure hasn't been hurting me. Or maybe that's because I'm taking fenugreek to keep my supply up. But I'll use DigestZen, the facial cleaner and scrub. I've added peppermint to ice cream. I just try to keep my exposure low-keyed.

Everybody is different, and some can take as much peppermint as they like without a fluxuation. Some can't handle indirect exposure, like me for a while. When I would put Deep Blue on my son, just smelling the peppermint was dropping my milk levels.

Basil oil definitely helps the milk supply, arguably so does clary sage. Some say yes, some say no. It hasn't hurt my milk. For all we know of, Serenity might be the magic to boost your milk because you relax more, you know?

Blessings,
Leah

I take the supplements but I'm not too sure if there is anything else
I should be doing or if there is something I should be avoiding
either?
Thanks!!
