Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: sunscreen

Thank you.  I think it may be the vetiver also. Because I had used it behind my ear and in my navel. Both places were irritated. I have been searching through older posts and have seen o there's have had similar reactions.  Some have suggested detoxing. But I didn't see any that people tried and it solved the problem. I had been using the vetiver for  acouple weeks ( to help with insomnia, which helped alot) and had no problems. That's why I thought it was possibly the lemon since I had taken it the morning of the later outbreak. It is a very irritatingv rash( one person described it as feeling like slivers of glass and itchy) that is exactly the feeling. I don't want to give up on the oils as many have been beneficial.  I just don't want another outbreak like this or if I on friends who I have introduced to oils. So I am open to all suggestions and why I came to this forum. Thanks to all who take time to share. Katherine

Mommabarnkat I would suggest the Vetiver may need to be more diluted for you.  My son had a reaction similar to yours and that seemed to be the culprit.

I am recently new to essential oils. I am currently trying different ones to help with different issues. My 2 year old grand daughter is allergic to sunscreens so I was considering trying the recipe with the combination of helichrysum and FCO. Or one that also included lavender. My question was about the coconut oil. People use tanning oils that have coconut oil in them to tan. How is this keeping a person from burning? Or is this a completely different type of oil. I didn't want to try it til I had talked to others that have tried EO.   Thanks
