Re: [Everything doTERRA] Dog shy/anxiety

We have done this before. Its a little challenging.  Remember that crates are safe places for a dog to regulate and feel safe.  For now, that is his safety spot from the world.  Even though his world is "safe" now with you, in his mind, he doesn't quite trust it yet. Big time PTSD.  Its going to take time for the dog to trust everything around him.
Having had a dog and a child with ptsd, here are some important things to remember:
1.  Balance, serenity, and bergamot are wonderful calming oils and will help him adjust.  Depending on the size of the dog, I wouldn't put more than a drop or two on each ear (not in the ear).   Spine is also good.
Also, for the very best results, use oils with emotional release work.  I was amazed at what this did for our lambs (who were rejected by their mother) and our new dog. Releasing a few trapped emotions (fear, terror, rejection,  etc) can do wonders for a dog.  They are resiliant once this energy is released.

We just got an abused dog at the shelter that hasn't been very well socialized and is scared of about everything.  He's difficult to catch when he's outside and all he does when he's inside is hang out in his crate.  He will only eat at night in his crate when no one is looking and just likes to be left alone.  Any suggestions?
