I just mean that you don't have to hide it, the Dr. does not have to like what you choose to do at home or if you choose natural over drugs, that is not his choice.  You are paying him for his educated guess, and not his judgement of your personal life.  Some don't get it but I just wonder why we (the customers) care what the Dr. thinks?  If you don't like him, go elsewhere. My GP admits he has no clue about natural remedies or nutrition but does not poo-poo what I do at home, I would not care if he did.  I like his manner, and go to him because of that.  I went to a natural medicine Dr. who was much more judgemental and of course decided (after a couple of times) not to go back.

Now that I see a holistic doctor, I do not have problems being honest, but in the past, I felt I had to hide everything! When I told my neurologist the herbs and oils I was using for migraine, he told me they would never work! Same as my regular doctor. Honestly, there are not many that believe in anything OTHER than medicine. Just my 2 cents.

Here is a post I read (see very bottom) that may explain what I mean as well. It seems like mainstream doctors just don't get it and medicine is their ONLY answer. I agree with Debie's post that doctors are very sarcastic when natural remedies are mentioned.
