Re: [Everything doTERRA] Lemon-sized pressure sore

I agree with Pat on he oils. Coming from a nurse who dealt with pressure ulcers for years, there are a few other details I would like to know I cannot see the pics since I am on my iPhone)--how much drainage is the wound making? It is important to keep the wound in a moist healing environment. It is important to have a good balance, so if it is too dry, then moisture needs to be added. If too wet then drainage needs to be drawn away more frequently. The type of dressing being applied can help with moisture management. Plain gauze may need to be changed more often for a heavily draining wound. For a dry wound, wound gel or saline moistened gauze can be inserted then covered with gauze or another dressing that is better at keeping moisture in like a Duoderm. Is your doctor able to give you any wound care supplies? I would use the oils with each dressing change. Look at the wound edges--are they rolled in? The wound cannot heal I edges are rolled in. Make sure to include wound edges when applying some of the oils. Obviously keep pressure completely off the wound. Make sure he also eats a diet rich in protein and whole foods as this will greatly help his wound/muscle to heal. And please know, when the wound fila back in there will be some scar tissue inside. So the wound site may be more susceptible to pressure ulcers again.
