I am totally accident prone and have had the opportunity to apply this poultice many times w/ the same consistent results.
Using equal amounts of wheatgerm oil and honey- mix thoroughly together until well blended - then add crushed comfrey leaf until it is a thick poultice that you can ball up and mold. It won't hurt to add more honey if it doesn't stick together well, b/c you need it to.
Apply a layer of the poultice over the stitched area and cover w/ a layer of gauze followed by a layer of plastic wrap, (because it's on your forehead I would tape it down along the edges to keep the oil as contained as possible) then you can cover it with a bandage. Change it once everyday.
It doesn't look great, especially on the head, but it will completely prevent scarring if you keep up this regime until the cut is healed.
DO NOT let it oxygenate during this time.
I have had over 40 stitches in my face (from several accidents) and second degree burns on my right arm from my elbow down. Where I have used it, I have no scars, and where I have not, I have keloid scarring. I have used this on my children w/ the same results.
If there are oils which have the same result I would love to hear, but I would imagine it would require applying them every 30 minutes or so, as oxygen is what causes so much of the scarring, and we want to protect it from too much exposure.
Bacteria can't grow in honey...
The wheatgerm keeps the skin supply and moisturized while it is healing...
The comfrey is an awesome healer.
DO NOT use it internally. My horses love it that way, but so far as I know - our bodies don't tolerate it well.
Just my personal experience -
Kate

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] Help with 11 stitches on forehead!
Hi all you wonderfully informative doterra friends! I've been reading every message for the last year! Learning so very much! Every time I needed to ask a question I would read messages first and someone already posted what I needed to know! Thank you all! :)
But now I need your help on this! In The book M.E. it did not have much or maybe its me! My head is foggy and I hurt! Any way I woke up Sat @ 1am went to the bathroom, next thing I know I am coming too in a puddle of blood (about the size of a dinner plate) and I am stuck in between toilet and shower! I was out for 5 to 10 minutes! Went to the ER came home with 11 stitched on my forehead! 2 inside that will dissolve on their own and 9 that need to removed in 5 days! 2 inches long! My question is what oils to use? How often? If more than 1 do I layer or make a blend? I have little spray bottle and roll on bottles! Do I put oils on now or after stitches are removed! My head is also very swollen! Hospital did a CAT scan all is normal! I had very low blood pressure ( my b pressure has always been good/normal). Blood test showed very high white blood cell count! But no visible or known infection! Sorry for the graphic and lengthy post! I figured the more info you have the better advise on what I should do! Thank you so much for giving me your time and knowledge!
Smiles Always,
Krishna in California;)
