For caffeine, I would recommend weaning off slowly. This way the headaches are minimal. Why make him suffer more then necessary. When I have gone off drinking coffee, I go from a mug a day, to half a mug, to black tea, to green tea, and then none. There are slight changes in energy, but no migraines and extreeme headaches. We would never ask someone to go cold turkey of a med which is a drug, why do it with caffeine? Just my two cents

I have a potential IPC that has some concerns about the oils. How do
we know they are "safe" and not going to cause some sort of side
affect later on down the road? We have all been conditioned to know
that there will be some sort of side affect with meds. Every
commercial you hear will talk about how great the medication is and
what it treats, then the rest of the commercial is mentioning possible
side affects. I too still find myself becoming skeptical about the
oils and I am an IPC.
She also wanted to know if, say you are using the oils to help you
sleep at night, are you going to have to use them every night there
after in order to help you get to sleep because your body has become
dependent on the oils?
This person is HUGE on research, documentation supporting that
research. She's an attorney. So, not only do I want to be able to
answer these questions for her, I would also like to know where to get
the information to back up what everyone tells us about the doTERRA
oils.
Thank you for your support and information
Rachel :)

I wanted to add to this topic. My husband's uncle was diagnosed with
cancer 10 months ago. Colon cancer. They told him he had 30 days to
live. My father in law immediately took down Frankincense lavender
lemon on guard, along with the supplements. The uncle immediately
started taking all these oils in caps (now just straight) rubbed them
on his stomach and feet twice a day. He lived through Chemo with not
ONE side effect and the tumor is gone. This was 10 months ago. Uncle
feels great. Doctor's are amazed. Thought I'd share. Too excited not
too.

Hey Friends! I had the fortunate opportunity to talk with Dr. Hill
when he was in Boise last. I've been suffering from Tennis Elbow for
months. Deep Blue didn't really help much. I asked Dr. Hill what I
could use instead and he suggested I try Oregano (remember to dilute
it) and Lemon together and applied externally. Seriously? Better
than any pain pill and so much more effective. It's been almost a
month and my arm hasn't bothered me for about 4 days.
I hope that someone can use this information. :)

Thank you for sharing that! If the Deep Blue hasn't been effective for my
mother-in-law and father-in-law's knee pain, I'll have them try this when we
go there tomorrow.

Hi, I, too, recommend more water; what dosage of Slim & Sassy is
being used?
I had a report from a friend who is trying Slim & Sassy. She reported
indigestion when using 5 drops in her water. When I did talk to her
the other night I suggested she lessen the dose to 1-2 drops in water
and gradually work up. She probably needs to drink more water, as
well.
I can only use 1-2 drops of Slim & Sassy a day, as needed. Remember:
everyone is different. Different substances affect us in different
ways depending on what we need. Remember bananas can stop diarrhea or
constipation, which seems weird, too. Perhaps Slim & Sassy works the
same way.

It is always harder to get in front of this once it has been let go. Using
the oils
at the very beginning is always preferable.
Use Breathe and Rosemary on her chest and back through out the day. Put
Lemon, Melaleuca
and Oregano on her feet alternate it with Thyme and Wild Orange. Put it on
her feet every
couple of hours.
Put Frankincense down her spine in the mornings.
This will take some time and energy to keep the oils on her, also she is
only 10 so do not
use heavy doses, just a drop of each oil mentioned and layer them do not
blend them.
Hope this helps, they are suggestions only,

:( I'm sorry Kelli. Pat is right. It will be harder to do now that
she's as bad as she is. I have an asthmatic child and use breathe and
lime on him when he starts to cough. I use it normally until his
cough is gone or for sure lessened. Now that she has pneumonia it's
possible that her immune system may be compromised. I would also
start doing some onguard on the bottom of her feet.
I hope she feels better soon!

Vulvodynia (vul-vo-DIN-ee-uh) — or chronic vulvar pain — is characterized by pain in the area around the opening of your vagina (vulva). The pain, burning or irritation associated with vulvodynia may make you so uncomfortable that sitting still for long periods or even having sex becomes unthinkable. The condition can go on for months or years.
- Patricia Leavitt <doterradiscover@gmail.com> Mar 30 09:25AM -0600 ^
Thanks,
I would suggest taking Frankincense, 2 drops under the tongue daily. I would
also
put a spray attachment on a bottle of Lavender and after her bath/or shower
each
morning I would do a light spray to the affected area. Give it a week of
consistent
applications and then report back. If one oil doesn't work there are others
we can
try.

What is the best protocol for overcoming a caffeine addiction? I hear
about this more often than not when talking w/ people about their diet
and would like to know if there is a tride and true method to direct
them to follow.
Thanks
Kate

I do want to clarify that the "addiction" that sparked this question
was NOT coffee - but an energy supplement that he takes first thing in
the morning to "kick-start" his day. He said that when he doesn't
take it he gets the typical headaches that feel like they will quickly
transition into a migraine. It is about 65mg of caffeine first thing
in the morning - which in comparison doesn't seem like a lot, but he
would really like a resolution to getting off of it knowing that in
any dose, caffeine isn't good for our body.
Any help is appreciated.
- Patricia Leavitt <doterradiscover@gmail.com> Mar 30 06:41AM -0600 ^
There are lots of addictions, but caffeine is a bad one. He just needs to go
through
the detox part of it. Cinnamon oil on the tongue can help with that. I would
also suggest
a good cleanse. The Zendocrine could be helpful and if he does not use the
LLV you
might want to suggest that also.

When you say "just needs to go through the detox part of it" what
exactly do you mean? Do I tell him to just be a big boy and suck it
up? He is on the LLV, I didn't know about the cinnamon so I will tell
him that, but he is also on the zendocrine supplement and uses the
zendocrine blend on a daily basis whether diffusing or internally. He
drinks citrus in almost all of his water... but when he doesn't take
the morning "get me started" dose, he will develope a huge headache.
Any way to circumvent that? He would love to give it up but it
interferes enough with his day that he keeps putting it off.

I guess that is what I meant, "suck it up". The only way he will get rid of
those
massive headaches is to go through a few, using lots of oils for the pain.
There
is no easy way to right a wrong. The caffeine is extremely addicting. I
can't even
imagine what it must be like. When I gave up coke, I never had such a
headache
and I had no oils back then and the medicine barely touched it.
He is doing all the right things and its really terrific that he understands
the need
to get off those drinks.
Try the weekend, for getting through the worst of it.

When I went off caffeine 18 months ago, the headaches were terrible, but the thing that helped me stay off of it was lots and lots of grapefruit oil in my water. I drank it all day long. Grapefruit can help with addiction and it certainly helped me.

I would think that Past Tense, Deep Blue, or Peppermint would help with the
withdrawal headaches. It would be worth a try, rather than just "sucking it
up", IMO. [?]
Good luck to him. No addiction is easy to break, but the hardest ones are
things like caffeine and nicotine because of how pervasive they are to our
lives.
