Kent, my husband went w/Pat's recommendation for a "torn meniscus" (he never had an appt for the dr to verify for sure but a physical therapist told him that's what he had). He came home one pm in almost unbearable pain--just excruciating. When he told me what the PT had said, I immediately recalled Pat posting her protocol for this very thing. Pat, I thought your original protocol included Balance so we've been using that also. He is SO much better. I haven't been able to convince him, though, of using the warm, moist compress! He kept forgetting. Is he completely healed? Not sure but it sure beat surgery, scars, time off from work & THOUSANDS of dollars that we really don't have! Even now if he would continue those 4 oils PLUS add the warm moist cloth, I believe he would continue to see more healing. These oils are amazing. Good luck.

Subject: Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: What to do with the oils after orthoscopic surgery?
I did not have surgery Kent. I did have a torn meniscus but used the oils exclusively, so I think using them after the surgery would be just as effective.
In the palm of my hand I put a couple drops of coconut oil, lemongrass, helichrysum and Frankincense, rubbed it on the whole area and covered with a hot moist compress. I did this once a day and then applied the oils once more in that same day without the hot towel compress.
I would assume the meniscus was not totally torn or this would not have worked. It must have still had a connection to repair itself so well.

Thanks Pat. Didn't you have the same type of surgery. I am having troubles finding the protocol that you used to treat your knee after surgery. How often did you put the oils on your knee? I am guessing that you put the oils on the scar. I trust you. If you say it is ok, then I would like to try. I do have both Helichrysum and Frankincense, so I plan on using both of those as soon as we can. Do you think it would be better to put the oils on the scars? Thanks again for all your help. Kent

We are really trying hard to try and use the essential oils more, and we have an opportunity with my wife just having orthoscopic surgery yesterday. She had surgery on the miniscus of her knee; which, had several tears that needed to be repaired. The doctor has told us not to put any water on the incisions, so is that different than putting oils on it. Has anyone had any success treating an orthoscopic surgery right after (a day or so). Do the oils create any problems with the incisions, or do we just put the oils around the incision? I would really appreciate any recommendations on how to treat her knee after she just had orthoscopic surgery.
Thanks,
Kent
