It's likely because you used an oil with fillers or impurities in it. Or you have had an allergic reaction to clary sage. Either way, I would not use clary sage for a while and consider a candida cleanse using gx assist. As for the rash, I would just give it a few days do dissipate.  You could use lavender or frankincense to help relieve the irritation, but your taking a chance that it is a candida reaction and using essential oils could exasperate the rash until you do a cleanse.
