I have the same reaction to OnGuard. My mouth/tongue and throat swell. Anything internal, on my face neck or torso does this. I can use it on my feet but even diffusing it is hard for me to handle. I've found its the cloves only after going to a family dinner where my father covered the chicken in a clove sauce a couple days after my first reaction to OnGuard. Because Cloves are a natural anesthetic I've heard its pretty common to cause numbing if ingested, but not to that extent.
-- I too am in search of something similar to On Guard that does not have Cloves in it.
