I've had this problem for over 20 years, since I was a teen. My favorite solution is a whipped coconut oil lotion. I use about a cup of virgin coconut oil (the solid kind, not FCO), add a tablespoon of avocado oil (olive , grapeseed, almond or apricot oil will work great too), add whip the heck out of them with the whisk attachment on my mixer. Don't worry - the coconut oil will warm up and become easier to mix. I then add lavender, geranium, frankincense, and melaleuca until it smells good. (When I was originally learning aromatherapy, this was my favorite way to mix the oils....) This will produce a really nice lotion when it's done. I use it for EVERYTHING including cleansing my face, hydrating my face, and especially at night to put a whole lot on my hands before bed. It will soak in, just takes a few minutes. And everything feels soooo silky after!!

My hands become very dry during winter. They will crack and bleed just from flexing my fingers- forget opening bottles and such, to painful. Have been to doctors with no solution. I eat right and drink plenty, no artificial sweeteners either. Going to try making own lotion as have tried literally all over the counter lotions as well as some prescription. Any help or guidance (especially with recipe) on this is greatly appreciated.
