Re: [Everything doTERRA] Parvo prevention??

I've owned dogs my entire life, and got my first pup in 1967. Just have your dog get the appropriate vaccines, and until she's "fully" vaccinated she can still go on walks, play in your yard, etc. Just don't go to the dog park, etc. 4 months old (18 weeks) is still very young. Having people come to your home is fine and will help toward her socialization, but make sure if they have dogs, that they are healthy.

Parvo is transmitted through contact with the feces of an infected dog, but if someone walks in the infected dogs feces the virus stays on the shoes for awhile. See: http://pets.webmd.com/dogs/parvovirus-in-dogs

So have fun with your pup, just take care to limit some activities until she's fully protected. We just went through this with a new pup my son got after Christmas. He waited for extended adventures (the lake trail, the dog park, etc.)
