Yes you can put the oils on the scar, but if that makes you nervous then gently dot it around the area. It will still go where it needs to go. If you use Helichrysum and Frankincense your doctor will be astonished with the results. In fact he will think he did a pretty good job.
If you don't have those oils then Melaleuca and Lavender.

We are really trying hard to try and use the essential oils more, and we have an opportunity with my wife just having orthoscopic surgery yesterday.  She had surgery on the miniscus of her knee; which, had several tears that needed to be repaired.  The doctor has told us not to put any water on the incisions, so is that different than putting oils on it.  Has anyone had any success treating an orthoscopic surgery right after (a day or so).  Do the oils create any problems with the incisions, or do we just put the oils around the incision?  I would really appreciate any recommendations on how to treat her knee after she just had orthoscopic surgery.
