No there should not be any pain or discomfort b/c it is a gentle cleanse. The thing I noticed most the first time I did it & it was after I had completed GX & PB was that I felt great! I mean really really good & I had not been able to say that in YEARS....so you may experience a burst of energy or just a general overall feeling of wellbeing:)
