[Everything doTERRA] Airport X-Ray Machines and Oils

I just read this in my Modern Essentials book:

"When traveling by air, you should always have your oils hand-checked.
X-ray machines may interfere with the frequency of the oils" (pg 73).

What exactly does hand-checked mean? Does that mean keep them with
your carry ons? I do that, but the carry ons still have to be x-rayed.
Is there a way to get the oils through without getting them x-rayed?
I'm a little panicked about this because I fly a lot and I don't want
to ruin my oils!

Thanks,
Whitney
