Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Question on carrier oils and also on arthritis

I don't know of anything that will build new cartilage once it's gone, but I do know that for me applying a couple drops of Wintergreen (blend with carrier oil if you have sensitive skin and/or if you have a significant amount of area to cover) massaged into the knee then 30 seconds later doing the same with a couple drops of White fir brings a lot of pain relief.  The added bonus is the fragrance of the White Fir, it's one of my favorites.

When I take the Frankincense internally I put 4 drops in a veggie capsule and take it twice a day - this helps keep the inflammation down.

My recommendation is to do the Cleanse/Renew with GX Assist/PB Assist+. It's a 30-day cleanse, at least it is the way I was told to do it:
  • Days 1-3: Take 1 GX Assist capsule each morning
  • Days 4-6 -: Increase intake to 2 GX Assist each morning. If cramping, drop back to 1 per day until Day 6 then increase to 2 GX Assist
  • Days 7-10: Stay at [or increase to] 2 capsules of GX Assist each day
  • Days 11-15: Stop GX Assist.  Take 3 PB Assist capsules each day (1 with each meal)
  • Days 16-30: Take one PB Assist daily

If you've been on a lot of medication for a long time you may want to do the Zendocrine cleanse next.  I did three months of cleanses because I was dealing with some allergies that had been plaguing me for years.  Here's what I did:

  • month 1 - Cleanse/Renew
  • month 2 - Zendocrine Cleanse
  • month 3 - Cleanse/Renew

The Zendocrine cleanse addresses your filtering organs (liver, kidneys, etc.), so it's a good one if you've been on a lot of medication or been on it for a long period of time.:

  • Take the Zendocrine Detoxification Complex as directed
  • Massage a drop of the Zendocrine oil blend in the arch of each foot both morning and evening

I personally found both of these cleanses easy to do, experiencing no detox symptoms.

I hope that I answered your questions.  Just remember that the oils are powerful so you want to start slowly and listen to your body, don't try to do too much at once.  Start with what seems right for you and if that oil doesn't work try another.  Like Pat said, doTERRA has a lot of wonderful oils that support your body, so find what works for you.

Let us know how it goes for you.

Thanks so much for the come-back. I like  coconut  oil too but do have avocado  oil and another one from a friend who is into massage and just wondered if they would work also. So the oils that are the anti-inflammatory ones also work with pain? Do any of them actually heal or mend the knee? So you are suggesting that a cleanse would benefit too? How often do I do that? The one thing that I have noticed about the oils are that they don't have directions such as how many drops per capsule or how many to take at a time or how often do take them. I wish I had meetings or a rep close by to answer all my questions :) If you could let me know these questions too, then I could start on the cleanses and try to get these legs on the mend. Thanks so much again and have a great rest of the week.  Take care..........................~ Debbi ~

You're off to a wonderful start by taking the LLV.

My carrier oil of choice is the Fractionated Coconut Oil from doTERRA.  I've always heard that coconut oil is an excellent carrier oil because of it also had health benefits.

Several essential oils have anti-inflammatory properties: frankincense, helichrysum, myrrh seem to be the most frequently recommended.  I've taken the frankincense internally just for that reason but it seemed to take a couple weeks before I really experienced anything - but that was okay because a lot of meds (which have ugly side-effects) often take time to work.

Have you considered doing a "gut" cleanse with the GX Assist and PB Assist+?  A clean and healthy GI system effects so many other areas of your health.  Because of the long-term use of NSAIDS you may also want to do the Zendocrine Cleanse to give your filtering organs a boost.  These cleanses are easy to do and so beneficial.

For arthritic pain (I have it in the knees) I've found layering wintergreen then white fir to be the most effective for relieving pain.  You can blend the two oils but layering is more effective.  I'd recommend using them with a carrier oil so that you can spread them over a greater area.

As I am new to the group, was wondering if any "long time users" could tell me if mixing the essential oils with any carrier oil such as avocado, coconut, etc is alright or if we have to mainly use almond oil as a carrier.
Also, I have severe arthritis in my knees and back and have started taking  the LLV supplements 2 weeks ago but was wondering what to mix that will relieve pain and inflammation  so I can cut back on NSAID's before my Dr shoots  me?
Thanks so much for any and all info as I am so excited by this "new" discovery.
