I've cut out milk and yogurt as well as wheat and that has helped me. it was worth it for me to cut these out. There's a great book - "Wheat Belly" by Dr. William Davis that really opened my eyes to what wheat was doing to my body, including the skin conditions I had. It may or may not help your friend, but it did help me, along with the LLV. I should note that my doctors have done extensive blood tests and found nothing wrong with my thyroid, nor did they diagnose me with lactose or gluten intolerances; it's just something I tried that worked great for me.
