I agree with Brooke, never oregano for the ear, especially undiluted. I have used Basil, Frankincense and Lavender, seperate and together (depending on severity). You just rub what is left on your finger on the inside, but never enough that it would drip inside the canal. Rub the oil on the back of the ear down the jawline and repeat in the front and down the jawline. Also on the bottom of the feet.

So, in the middle of the night, last night, my 10 year old woke me up, crying with ear pain. He was clearly in a lot of pain. This is nothing new, as every year about this time, his allergies add up to a sinus and ear infection. We take him to the doctor for an antibiotic, etc. Well, this time I was so excited to try the oils approach. I put a little Oregano on a cotton ball and put it in his ear. Then I rubbed Balance on his forehead and Peppermint all down his neck and throat area to help with the pain. I went back to bed, but apparently, he still had a hard time sleeping because of the pain. He did finally fall asleep and then awoke today around noon. He looked a little better and said the pain inside his ear was gone. However, he said his actual ear lobe hurt. I looked closer, and the bottom of his lobe, the part closest to the opening of the ear, is swollen up quite a bit with a dark red scab on top of it. Did I burn him with the Oregano? Did I do it wrong? I was so tired, I may have remembered incorrectly, in the middle of the night how to treat ear pain. I rubbed some serenity and balance on it and then gave him the aromatouch therapy, this afternoon, as well as rubbing oregano on his feet. Overall, he is looking better, so I know that the oils are working, I just wasn't sure if the swollen lobe was normal?
