Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Seizures in cats

Ty and Your welcome.  I know this post started about a question about seizures but since I mentioned above that I use a drop of digestzen on my cat, i do want to clarify what I meant in case anyone reading that feels they want to do the same. It is not a Neat drop of digestzen.  I took a 1 oz dropper bottle and filled it up with fractionated coconut oil, I then added about 3-4 drops of digestzen,   I use the dropper and just fill the tip mostly and put it on the scruff of his neck.  This is the one drop I am referring to.   He is overweight and  due to having no tail,  he has issues we refer to as poopy butt or stink butt, anyway he needs help getting cleaned up.  Especially when his stool gets loose which happened a lot.  At one point this was a twice a day occurrence. Since I have been using the oil, yesterday was the first day we had to put him in the sink to clean his backside  in weeks. I hadn't applied it in a while since it no longer seemed a problem . I think I will be continuing with the application!

I am no expert and my intent is not too put anyone on the defense. Having a large cat myself (18 lbs) I have done a lot of research and being a responsible doterra rep  as we all are, I feel a responsibility to advocate for safety with our oils.  So when I see someone recommending 2 or more drops of undiluted oil for a cat I instantly feel the need to advocate for each person to do their own research and there is plenty of info out there now, not a ton but there are vets using oils who know what they are doing who have articles, YouTube videos, websites and Facebook pages and I have yet to come across one that says it's ok to use undiluted oils on cats. So unless your cat is the size of a tiger I still voice my opinion that 3 Seems a lot, however  You  know your cat and I just feel people need to be advised to do their own research before doing the same. 1 drop neat is recommended for most humans in most preventative circumstances. It seems in cases of significant illness that is when I see more than one drop of an oil being recommended for humans.

Thedogoiler.com also is great resource and has a ton of articles about cats and oils.

Here is a website you might also  find helpful, http://www.animaleo.info/learn-more.html.
Animaleo also has a Facebook page, admin is dr Melissa Shelton who is very interactive. I was just reading a lively thread on her page on  the subject of oil safety and cats.  Another eo vet is dr. Janet Roark her page on face book is essential oil vet, she uses doterra oils.   Sorry if I got on my bad wagon. Back to minding my own business.  😶
