These oils are powerful and we need to treat them with respect. You can also build resistance to some of them. No need to fear them just be careful.

I had the same thing happen to me just last week while vacationing in Mexico. I have been taking On Guard "straight" for a few months now, and never had a problem. Except it was "spicy". But I always watched myself in the mirror, to watch the amount of drops I put in my mouth. This time, just out of the shower, I grabbed the bottle, and while distracted, I thought I put in a couple of drops. I had an instant burning in my throat that felt like instant blisters. I was in such shock, I swallowed, and looked for my coconut oil. My eyes were burning so much, I could not read the bottles names, and in a panic, grabbed a bottle of water and guzzled it down! Big mistake! Swelling, all down the throat. I was alone, and it hurt so bad, I could not talk, to call for help. Gasping for air, I made myself focus to find My sample vial of coconut oil. Finally found it, and guzzled it down and gargled with it as best I could till the intense burning went down. some, enough to breath again. When my eyes cleared, I found the bottle to make sure it was what I thought I had taken. It was, but I found I had actually taken about 1/3 of the bottle! I just had not "felt" the drops go in, as I had been distracted. It took two days to even be able to eat rice without the burning. I have a daughter with Sevier allergies. So I know first hand, how something that never bothered her before, suddenly becomes anaphylactic. However, I did try it again a couple of days later, as we went to an island and had dinner off the resort. I was afraid of Montezuma's revenge, more than the burn. But I was extremely Leary, and had my husband witness for me, so if anything happened, he could get me a Benadryl or epi-pen, etc. Also, looked at the individual ingredients, to see if there was anything in the mix, that I might me more sensitive to. To see if an old allergy was coming back. It is terrifying. But I have fallen in love with these oils. For your person, I would suggest using them on the feet, with a witness, and take photos... and have Benadryl ready. I have read a lot more recently, that repeated use in the same area can cause sensitivity. I hope, it will be fine with the capsules. It has worked so well for me. I love the product.--

Here is what she said:Tonight I kind of missed the tongue and it went in my throat which I've done purposely in the past with no reaction. Tonight it immediately burned intensely and choked me...like I was having an anaphylactic reaction with my tonsils or throat closing up. I thought I had accidentally drank deep blue or something and checked the bottle. It's let up a bit but feels like I have a sore throat (I didn't) like razors. Have you heard of this? It's so odd, but so intense I thought I would pass it on. Oh and it made my ears do a big pop too. Still has sore throat now bits very scratchy and hoarse she thinks the skin in there is burned cause it's kind of numb when she eats. She said she is definitely not sick (though doesn't mean I wasn't headed that way) and now she is totally afraid of on guard😔
Can anyone advise me on why this might be happening to her. Any advice will be helpful - she is a big doterra "user" and loves it.
