They can, as far as I understand it, but here's the thing...it may take another oil to use for what may be a specific problem. The oils all work differently, and together, and differently for each individual. We are not doctors and only make suggestions as to the research that has been put out there. Just like taking a drug that you get from a doctor, there are no guarantees that it will work for you. So then your doctor will prescribe another drug, but unlike drugs, essential oils do not have the same side affects. (Toxic overload is usually the only side affect I have heard of). Because our creator made each of us differently and uniquely, several oils may work together creating a better environment for your body. I'm sure you will get a few more answers to your questions from much better experts on this subject than myself. But if you are not happy for any reason with the use of an essential oil, doTERRA will do everything they can to correct your problem.
