Hair loss may be due to 'alapicia airiata' (don't know that I spelled this correctly) but I have this condition however I only have hair loss in various patches.  I also have low thyroid harmone and according to my reading on this condition it can be a cause of hair loss.  You may want to suggest she have a thyroid harmone check up.  Low thyroid causes many strange things to happen.

I have an aunt that is losing hair a lot of hair. In my research I have found that low silica is the cause. Most men bald because of it. There is usually an under lying problem.  i would do as many of the following i could for as long as i could.  where she is totally hairless, which i would love for all but my head lol, not sure if she can grow it back but worth a try right? if it works you should see stubble within a month.

1- have her look at www.earthworkshealth.com and read the testimonials.  see if she relates to any of them and that will tell you her underlying problem. then you can deal with that

2-up silica.  good brands are alta and flora.  www.vitacost.com is a good place to get vitamins discounted.

3- nettles tea has a lot of silica in it

4-oatmeal is high in silica... eat the least processed one

5- check out www.healthandbodyfitness.com  they have a hair fitness supplement and so shampoo that seems good.

6- only use non chemical things on your body.. ie.. shampoo, lotion, soap etc... use doTERRA shampoo. it rocks!

7-adding zinc and b6 will help also.  on vitacost there is new chapter zinc food.

8- being on the llv will help a lot because of the nutrients

9- rosemary to invigorate scalp.
