[Everything doTERRA] Vegan LLV: WARNING!!!

Hi everyone, I hope this information is helpful and useful for those whom are vegans whom have or plan to use the Vegan Long Life Vitality Supplements. I just received my VLLV order today and was shock and disappointed that the product has vitamin D3 which, is from sheep animal wool. That means that it should not be labeled as vegan. I have contact Product Support, the team that I was informed is whom you are to contact with issues or concerns of any of the doterra products via email. I have copied and pasted below for your review. Although, I am disappointed in the VLLV, I am still a fan of their oils and some of their others products that has no animal source in it. I am in the process of returning my order of the VLLV for my refund. Take care!

We appreciate your inquiry. Vitamin D3 is added to vEO Mega, xEO Mega, and Microplex VMz for a multitude of health benefits including absorption of calcium, support of the immune system and maintaining cognitive function. Vitamin D3 is considered to be the most bioavailable and beneficial form of this nutrient used in supplements and that is why we have included it in our formulas. dōTERRA has sourced vitamin D3 from a glycoprotein matrix harvested from yeast format and it was our understanding that the source was safely considered vegan. It has recently come to our attention that the original source is actually from lanolin, which is an oil that is harvested from sheep's wool. However, after several purification steps, it is integrated into the protein matrix by yeast metabolism, and no longer retains any properties or components of the original lanolin. This is why it was considered vegan.

 

Due to concerns expressed about its origin, we are now working to reformulate the vEO Mega and Microplex VMz to include a vitamin D3 sourced from 100% non-animal sources. The label will look exactly the same and the effectiveness of the product will also remain unchanged.
