For mom, you can use lavender diluted with coconut oil on her nipples. I kept some mixed and after I nursed I would put it on. If she's worried about the essential oils, straight virgin coconut oil will help a ton. I found I had to be diligent about it. I've used the same thing on diaper rash as well. One of the best things for diaper rash is being naked. Lay baby on a cloth diaper, towel or use a puppy training pad (waterproof backing) under baby and let the little one get some air. If this can be done in the sunshine from the window, it would be even better.
For mom's hips, I would suggest some Frankincense. She will want to steer clear of using deep blue as the peppermint could negatively affect her milk supply. I hope this helps.
