Sharon, I'm more than 21 months into nursing, 39 weeks pregnant and have been taking LLV since January. I am supplementing with iron pills due to extra tiredness if I don't take them. But I haven't noticed any problems with my supply. If anything, I'd guess that my son is nursing more now.

I have had issues with OnGuard and nursing. I already knew that OnGuard stimulated my son at 3 months old (no sleep for 8 or 9 hours straight), so I thought I'd take it myself... but he was still being affected. He did eventually outgrow that, and can take OnGuard with no problems.

I won't go out of my way to use peppermint, but I do have some pretty consistant exposure, like in the conditioner and LLV. Sometimes through DigestZen, PastTense, Deep Blue and AromaTouch. What I do stay away from is Whisper and any of the products that contain jasmine oil. Two drops of Whisper KILLED my supply when my son was 5 months old. I was getting a mere 2oz in a day and having to supplement with my freezer stash of breastmilk.

To bring my milk supply back up, I completely avoided any peppermint and jasmine essential oils. I used basil several times a day (fennel wasn't released yet). I slept and nursed as much as I could so my body could focus on making milk. I was drinking a lot of water (with lemon), pushing for a gallon or more a day. I was having Mother's Milk tea 2 or 3 times a day. I was also drinking a bottle of hard cider a day... but I don't think it really boosted my supply. I think it's more helpful if the mother is tense about nursing or her milk supply, which wasn't exactly my problem.

I was able to continue to exclusively breastfeed my son until 6.5 months. So even if mistakes happen like too much of the wrong essential oil, it can be fixable with the right amount of resources and dedication.

Blessings,
Leah

Hi!
I'm also nursing and love the oils on me and my kiddos!  I haven't tried the llv yet because it has peppermint in it and as mentioned above, peppermint decreases milk supply.  However, I have a friend who is nursing and just started using llv and said she thinks her supply actually increased!  I don't if the amount of peppermint is just low or what.... Maybe someone else could weigh in.  I would LOVE to start taking llv before I'm done nursing because that will be a while:)
