Re: [Everything doTERRA] Alternative Sciatica Treatment

Have you tried wintergreen for the pain? I don't know if you have birch, but my husband swears by that oil. :)

I had considerable pain in the first few months of breastfeeding around my back and arms (probably something to do with my son gaining over 10 pounds in the first 3 months). I've found the chiropractic visits and Balance go far in easing my discomfort. Sometimes I need to apply a drop of Balance every hour or two until the pinched feeling disappears.

What about PastTense? Or Deep Blue? They both have peppermint, but maybe in less amounts as AromaTouch?

Just checking, you're not using Whisper are you? The jasmine essential oil cut my milk supply harsher than any peppermint has.

Basil, fennel and lots of water can help increase your supply. Oh, and you might want to check the rubber pieces on your pump. I just recently found out that on the Medela pumps, the rubber membrane can weaken over time and should be replaced every month.

Hope you get your supply back, a solid breastfeeding relationship is something I treasure.

Blessings,
Leah

I have a protruding disc at L5/S1 and have been managing my sciatica symptoms (pain, tingling, numbness) with AromaTouch for the last couple days but I think it is affecting my milk supply.  I'm breastfeeding a 13mo old and neither of us are interested in stopping soon.  I haven't been able to pump as much as usual (I was at work all day today and got 7oz vs my usual 13oz).  I read a previous post that peppermint can have a negative effect on milk supply so I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for other oils that would help.  I've been happy with the pain relief, but not with the drop in lactation.

Thanks!
