I've not had to replace sprayer much a couple in the last 2 years. I use the heavy duty bottles from Home depot like you said you were going to try. If the dilution is great enough heavy duty plastic bottles are fine.
I will have to try your cleaning solution on mirrors Pat. I've not found a homemade on that one that I love. Thank you for the recipe. I dilute OnGuard cleaner for my spray cleaner to directions. I use Purify diluted 1-1 + a few extra drops in a bottle. I make a glass cleaner I don't love (takes extra scrubbing to be streak free though I'm thinking ing rubbing alcohol, just now, might fix that issue. Its a vinegar and water and citrus oil recipe.
For my toilet bowl I add extra vinegar & oil to my mix with a recycled toilet bowl cleaner container one that calls itself green tend to have reusable bottles and less chemicals in it but I read labels because I don't want the residue in my bottle. I use a glass open mouth jar for my tub scrub.
You can't purchase junk bottles to use with essential oil. Home Depot bottles can eventually have sprayer nozzles issues but I've only replaced a couple in the last couple years. I've also bought a Multi-pack from Sams's Club, but the foaming sprayer is worthless to me.
