[Everything doTERRA] Re: Dogs - Ear Yeast Infection Success

The last time I used this protocol with great success. Good Luck.
DoTERRA Essential Oil mix for yeast and also helps
with infection and ear mites:
Equal amount of Lavender, Frankincense, Geranium, B
asil, diluted 30-50% with FCO.
Put in little dish and use Q-Tips (I find a cotton
ball just doesn't do a good enough job of cleaning
out gunk - but
be careful) - dip in mix, squeeze out excess - care
fully clean out debris. Do not go down ear canal be
yond what
you can see.
Use a lot of Q-Tips so you do not push debris down
canal.
Once you have cleaned out ears.
Use 4 drops Lavender in 1 Teaspoon FCO
- gently wipe around irritated areas of
ear to soothe.
Do this protocol daily until no more sign of infect
ion (fungal)/debris and ear no longer looks irritat
ed. Make it
part of weekly care to check ears and clean with th
e lavender/FCO mix to keep from problem coming back
.

If this protocol does not significantly improve ear
s in a week, take to vet. Reason - bad infections t
hat are not
successfully addressed can lead to thickening of ea
r tissues and blockage of ear canal = per

Carla,
My dog has food allergies and our vet recommended fish and potatoes.  If you live near a Costco, the Kirkland brand of Pacific Wild Salmon & Potatoes is appropriate for all ages and I believe it is grain-free.  It is produced by Iams but labeled for Costco under the Kirkland logo.  I have had EXCELLENT results with it and the cost is around $30-$35 for a 30 pound bag.
Best wishes ...Rebecca

Our dog has another horrible problem with her ear.  She's had many infections in the past and I always used the recipe for Earache in the ME book which was melaleuca, lavender and Roman chamomile.  Now I'm afraid to use that because of the posts on melaleuca being unsafe.  I figured if it was in the book, it was OK.  We've tried basil for two days with no improvement at all and in the past the earache formula worked within a day.   I am going to try just lavender I guess and perhaps the vinegar/water solution.  How often do I use each of these safely on our dog and how much?  She is a sheltie/collie mix at about 45 lbs.  Her ear is crusty inside and really bothering her.  I would like to change her food, but I've not seen any grain free food where we live and we can't afford to ship in the really pricey stuff.  In the summer she also has allergies to something outdoors as she gets red & itchy all over.  The ear problem seems to come & go year round.
