In my opinion the polish will do more harm than good as she is just suffocating the fungus and not allowing the area to be treated. She needs to keep the area clean and free of polish, lotions and moisture as much as possible. Lemongrass worked wonders for my husbands one big toe nail but it does smell and will turn the nail awful colors as the fungus is killed. He now has a healthy nail growing up. I would apply the lemongrass or oil you chose to clean feet and then put on clean cotton socks afterward to avoid the smell. My husband had to do this two to three times a day until the new nail came in.

I've searched and read through the previous posts so I'm comfortable telling my sister what to use but I do have a question.
She has asked us she can do it with polish on her toes. I told her I not would not think so because the oils would need to penetrator the mall but she asked if I could double check with folks who are more familiar with this treatment because she really wants to hide her ugly toe if she canThanks in advance,
Tracy
