My 2 year old daughter got this a few months ago. i noticed the spots around 2pm. I used coconut oil to dilute Purify and put them on her spots on her body. she didn't have but a couple in her mouth. The Purify all but stopped them from spreading...with the exception of a couple new spots coming on her face and chest (new ones). I immediately put the purify on them and those two were gone within a couple hours. i also put a Onguard/coconut oil on her spine and bottoms of her feet when she would let me. At night I ran our diffuser in her room with Lavender, Purify, Peppermint and Breathe in it. The Lavendar to help with fever and a more restful sleep. The Peppermint and the Breathe because she was fairly snotty and congested. She had a runny nose and was congested about 5 days before the spots came on. But, once i saw the spots and new what she had and started with the Purify and Onguard I noticed a quick turnaround in how she felt. The next morning she didn't have any new spots and by the afternoon her appetite had returned. I had searched the internet for doterra oils to use on hand foot & mouth when her spots came on and one blog mentioned Purify was the only oil that helped and they had tried a bunch of them.
Just thought I would add our story as it may help some Mama and little one. It was a very stressful illness for her to have as my sisters kids had suffered for 6 weeks with HFM. I was so happy to have the oils to use even though we are very new to using them.
