[Everything doTERRA] 13 year old Nerve Damage

Hello! I am new to this group and have only been using oils for about a year. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

My father had a malignant brain tumor 13 years ago, to remove it they had to sever the cochlear nerve to his left year. This means he has no hearing at all in that ear, instead he hears ringing at all times (like you would when in a silent room if you have any hearing damage). I would like to try and see if I can help him regain any hearing in that ear, for that to happen the nerve would have to regenerate.

Have anyone ever heard of something like this being done, regenerating severed nerves after so long? My first thought was to use Helichrysum. Does anyone have any other suggestions? He is a skeptic, but will try it if I ask.
