Sorry April, you sound miserable. Have you been taking the OnGuard plus capsules, they would help a lot. Also a suggestion of Lavender and Myrrh rubbed on the throat area, both of these oils are antimucalade. Of course as you know when ill like this you should stay away from refined carbs, which would exacerbate your condition. Possibly try peppermint tea for soothing and running a diffuser with Eucalyptus and/or Breathe would also help.

I am hoping you can all give me some suggestions. I had a very sore throat for 3 days and it went away when I was using the oils. A few days later, even though I was still using oils, I got a sore throat again but with a cough. As a week has gone by with the sore throat is mostly gone except at night. I know it does not help that my nose is also stuffed up so I have to breathe through my mouth at night. I wake up with it and my coughing and drink a lot of water day and night. So now, two weeks later I have lost my voice for about a week and it is just starting to come back but I still cough a lot and my voice starts to go once I try talking, in a quiet sad version of my normal voice during the last two days. My questions are: what will help me get rid of this? What will help my voice, I heard that I could damage my vocal cords by talking to soon? What helps with a constant cough?
My symptoms are almost exactly like laryngitis and having worked in hospitals when I get sick I get SICK. I do not do any over the counter or prescription meds and have been living on the on guard throat drops.
