I have a friend who has two children (8-10 yrs old) who, a few times a
year go on Fluconazole (Diflucan) and then a probiotic and she would
like to consider trying GX Assist/PB Assist instead.
My question is: Should the GX/PB be taken at the same doseage for
children this age or be cut down, in 1/2 or something or started
slower, then increased?
OR should she try the other option of mixing of your own oils in a
capsule instead (the candida mix) and if so, what amounts would make
sense for children?
Here is a little background:
The boys have been prescribed Fluconazole in the past when the doctor
has put them on what is called a "yeast protocol". It is prescribed
for yeast overgrowth in their system. They usually do it once or
twice a year. The yeast overgrowth in their system causes behavioral
issues, mainly hyperactivity, but it can also cause depression,
lethargy, etc. It also causes extreme food cravings. The thought
behind this is that the food that we eat builds up yeast in our system
and the yeast requires certain foods to continue to grow and will
cause you to crave those foods. The biggest culprit is sugar. So if
you crave sugar a lot you most likely have yeast overgrowth. One of
the children is very sensitive to sugar. They eat all organic foods
and usually they have sugar no more than twice a week, but it still
causes problems. Mom can always tell because he starts craving sugar
all the time and begging for it and his behavior gets hyper and out of
control. The doctor has them follow a protocol of no sugar, only 2
servings of fruit per day, no cheese, no processed foods or lunch
meat, no white carbs and no juice during the time they are on the
Fluconazole, usually 2 to 4 weeks. Plus they take a probiotic that we
get from the doctors office that is casein free. One of the boys is
allergic to casein (which is derived from dairy and many probiotics
contain it), so they use this one that doesn't.

Again, the question is- if Mom wants to try Doterra products, what
would be the recommendation for CHILDREN vs. adults.
(I don't see casein listed in our PB Assist ingredient list, so I'm
assuming it is not present in our probiotic).
Thank you in advance for any replies/input!
