You can place multiple oils in your diffuser. I would have him gargle with
OnGuard and use Breathe on the sinus area, under his nose and on his
chest.
If the sore throat doesn't clear up with the Onguard, use Lemon and Oregano.
Its pretty hot but it will kill the germs.
Use Breathe and Eucalyptus in the Diffuser and keep it where he is.

My son has had a swollen and sore throat for about a week now, with no
other symptoms. I took him to the doctor just to get his throat
swabbed for strep and it was negative. The doctor said he thinks it
might be sinusitus. I really like our doctor, but when they say they
THINK it might be something I become a little leery. He prescribed an
antibiotic (which I am not too thrilled about anyway) and a cough
medicine (?). Did I mention no other symptoms? What was the cough
medicine for? Anyway, is there anything that works well for sinus
infections? Sore throats? Oh, by the way, does anyone know if you can
place more than one kind of oil in the diffuser at a time?
Thanks,
