How old is he - if he can handle it - OnGuard - about 3 drops on the back of his tongue - just not on the front.  It's a hot oil and he'll need a glass of water.  THis works for me for sore throats really fast - then in about 3-4 hours do it again and then again before he goes to bed.  You will get other ideas too but this is the simplest and works great for me!

My son has had a swollen and sore throat for about a week now, with no other symptoms. I took him to the doctor just to get his throat swabbed for strep and it was negative. The doctor said he thinks it might be sinusitus. I really like our doctor, but when they say they THINK it might be something I become a little leery. He prescribed an antibiotic (which I am not too thrilled about anyway) and a cough medicine (?). Did I mention no other symptoms? What was the cough medicine for? Anyway, is there anything that works well for sinus infections? Sore throats? Oh, by the way, does anyone know if you can place more than one kind of oil in the diffuser at a time?
