Jan - cats need real meat. They are carnivores and our store bought dry food is like eating MacDonalds everyday, I buy a high quality dry food (Orijen) but I also feed meat every day, it's like eating an all natural raw diet for us. I get the chicken gizzards and hearts from Walmart (organic would be best if you can afford it) and chicken legs, elk and deer meat. Just a warning they will become spoiled and demand meat every day!! They can and need raw meat so they can get all the good stuff out of the bones, only raw bones. They become brittle when cooked.and will cut up their digestive tract and they can die from eating cooked bones. My cats eat their meat raw most of the time, give them enough so that they finish it, put the rest in the fridge.

So Sharon, has your cat started to eat more? Mine has the same problem, is skinny as a rail and eats all day long or when ever we get brave enough to feed him again. But then he throws up at least twice a week. And we can only feed him wet food, no dry, or he will throw that up all the time. We've even gone to the health food store to get the expensive cat food, but he won't eat it all. He is 18 years old and is a Mainecoon. I will try the digestzen on his paws and see if it helps his eating habits. Thanks for the tip.

My cat seemed to be "starving" and eating all day long. As with a child who has an upset stomach, cats tend to eat when there's no grass to help with tummy upsets. I put some digestZen on the bottom of my Tiki's paw, and with what was leftover, I rubbed her gums. I sat on the couch, and she jumped up and GLARED at me, until her eyes closed. Then she rolled over onto her back, both sets of paws spread-eagle, and slept for 3 hours. It was hilarious, and she has acted like a kitten since, chasing her tail, playing with yarn and batting dumb stuff all over the place. She's six now! --- On Tue, 11/24/09, Kathy ~ At The Edge <sandhollow@aol.com> wrote:
