Honestly, I've always put Serenity straight onto my children without a carrier oil. I remember at 3 months old, my son was inconsolable. Nothing stopped the wails until I touched the bottle of Serenity with my fingertip and rubbed it on his foot. If you do want a carrier oil, I'd probably shoot for something like 50/50.
I think some people are hesitant about Serenity because it can cause a bit of a release, notably in the form of blood. For my mom and I, it happened in the form of a surprise period. She was finishing up menopause, I was 3.5 months postpartum and exclusively breastfeeding. And then on this group, I read about a guy who took Serenity and had a nose bleed. It just seems to be a one time thing, then we're able to use Serenity like normal. Since the baby has already been exposed to Serenity, it's not something that I would be concerned about.
