According to the call I listened to today, by Carsten Smidt***, he said tests show problems with health when using 1000 or more units (whatever they are, mg????) of Folic Acid and doTERRA only uses 200. So he said the amount doTERRA uses is very safe even for pregnant women. I hope that helps. Maybe someone will post the information when it comes available. You should also be able to call doTERRA and they might be able to lead you to that information.
***We would like to invite you to join Carsten Smidt, dōTERRA's Chief Science Officer, as he educates individuals on supplements in the new Daily Nutrient Pack and in the updated Lifelong Vitality Pack. He will specifically be addressing the concern expressed over switching from folate to folic acid.

For anyone wondering what all the fuss is about and why this is such a big deal here is some info for you (from Dr. Kelly Simms ND, CNS that she sent out in her newsletter last week): Depression, heart disease, and fertility concerns linked to folate:On Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 11:14:27 AM UTC-7, Beth Shreve wrote:
What: an enzyme mutation called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (5MTHFR)
Why: MTHFR is a gene that takes synthetic folic acid and turns it into usable folate. People who have the MTHFR gene mutation can be up to 80% less efficient in converting folic acid. If you have a mutation in MTHFR, like 40% of the population does, the folic acid that your cells can't convert mostly floats around your body.
Conditions associated with MTHFR mutation: depression, anxiety, fertility concerns, cardiovascular disease, and migraines.
Action: Avoid vitamins that contain folic acid. Instead, choose vitamins that contain active forms of folate like L-5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Also, get tested for the mutation, B12 and homocysteine!
Read more about MTHFR here and here.stopthethyroidmadness.com/mthfr/?hc_location=ufistopthethyroidmadness.com/mthfr/?hc_location=ufiJust curious why anyone would not take the Alpha CRS included with the LLV 3 pack and get the Daily Nutrient Pack (2 pack) instead? Have not had any problems taking the ALpha CRS myself and was curious why they came up with a pack without this supplement. Thanks for the help.--
