Judi - I'm SO not qualified to give advice on HBP management and am just learning how to manage mine without prescription meds. My HBP was just barely high enough that my doctor wanted me on prescription meds, so that may have something to do with why the combination of LLV and oils is working for me. I monitor daily and keep records of readings and pulse. I would strongly encourage anyone wanting to wean off meds to do so under the careful care of their doctor.
That said, I am currently using a couple fingerswipres of clary sage and Ylang Ylang 4 to 6 times spread fairly evenly throughout a 24 hour period. I just yesterday read that Melissa is great for heart concerns and have a 10% Melissa and 90% carrier oil, so will add a couple fingerswipres (I'm guessing about 1/2 drop per fingerswipe) each time I do the other oils and see how that works. I do use a lot of varieties of oils during the course of a day, so perhaps some of these may also be helping. I wish I had a well and professionally researched answer to give you. Currently, I'm feeling like my own lab rat...but feeling better than I did with lots of prescriptions. I have multiple medical issues I'm addressing including insomnia and severe neuropathy and osteoarthritis. I am home bound and no longer able to be active, though I spent my 50's at my gym before I really wore out.
I also use on a fairly regular if not daily basis: lemon, lime, bergamot and wild orange, white fir, Deep Blue Rub, lavender, peppermint, geranium, marjoram, wintergreen, lemongrass, vetiver, cypress, In Tune, melaluca, clove, Past Tense, helichrysum and frankinsense.
