Re: [Everything doTERRA] Re: frequency of use of "morphine bomb"

I'm  not sure what you mean by "liquid morphine" - the capsules perhaps? - but I'd save that for the more intractable pain. Topical applications of different layer combinations (wintergreen/white fir or lemongrass or frankincense/marjoram), Deep Blue) are often able to address moderate muscle/joint pain.

I just re-read my earlier post and I should have said that my husband, even though he's no longer taking any statins, still has the muscle and joint pain. Yes, the pain started with the statins and now seems to be continuing though to a lesser degree. He did a Zendocrine cleanse but perhaps it takes more than once to get  all of those statins out of his system.  Anyway, the doctor prescribed Meloxicam (an NSAID) because ibuprofin wasn't helping with the continued pain. As we know, NSAIDs are wicked hard on the stomach so their long-term use leads to even more problems. We're managing my husbands pain now with just 1/2 of one ibuprofin tablet taken with a capsule containing 5-6 drops of Thyme (I also include 2-3 drops of carrier oil), and just once a day.

Today I just brought my husband home after having his defibrillator replaced and a third lead added to it so he's sore. While in the hospital he took hydrocodone a just two times and declined the offer of a prescription to have at home. We'll use the Thyme capsule and if that isn't enough we'll move to the "morphine alternative" of frankincense/marjoram or frankincense/oregano in a capsule.

Thanks for the input. I will give him the oils and let him decide how to use them. I will also suggest the "liquid morphine" for only moderate pain.

My husband also dealt with a lot of pain from each statins prescribed for him - the drug seemed to settle in his leg and shoulder muscles. It got bad enough that his doctor took him off the statins (monitoring of course) to see if it helped. It helped a lot. At his last check up the  doctor wanted to put him back on the statins and my husband decided he'd try them again. That is until he went to pick up the prescription - over $400 for a month's supply. That is when he decided to continue with the daily Lemongrass capsule.

Side note - I was encouraged when Pat noted on another thread that it took 4 months for her to see results from this protocol and someone else she knew didn't see results for 8 months, because my husband had only been doing the protocol for about three months.

My husband has been on NSAIDs (ibuprofin and Meloxicam) for the sore muscles but prolonged usage is hard on the stomach and who knows what else. We started experimenting with essential oil alternatives for battling the pain and what we came up with was before bed he would take 1/2 of an ibuprofin and a capsule containing a few drops of carrier oil (we use fractionated  coconut oil) and 5-6 drops of Thyme. It works! We're hoping to get to the point that he can drop the ibuprofin, or at least maybe just including it every other day.

The morphine alternative could be overkill, so I'd try to find something else that works for him - give the Thyme a try.

My dad is trying to get off Tylenol and has agreed to try oils. He has constant pain because of the side effect of requiring statins for high cholesterol. Also if I was to mix it for him per the recipe but in a bottle how many drops per dose would I need to tell him to put in the capsule? He is also going to start DDR Prime. Any other suggestions?
