You are not obligated to do anything but purchase product, the pv lets you know your product volume. If you are placing a Loyalty Reward Order and looking to earn free points for free product then you want to always place an order of at least 50pv in order to quality for points. If you place an order of at least 125pv by the 15th of each month you also qualify for the free oil of the month.
There are some products in doTerra that have different costs from pv. For instance if you purchase lemon oil it is 10pv and costs you $10.00. Most of the oils match pv and dollars. The LLV is a different pv from dollars.
Look in your virtual office and read the paper regarding LRP orders. I helps you understand about ordering and earning points.
Knowing the pv is important to those of us that want to always earn free points and VERY important for us doing the business. It lets us know if our orders are qualified by how much our pv is (personal volume).
