The isoflavons are from soy (non gmo) but as long as they are working I am so thrilled for you. You are also correct in the hormones for both male and female.
Just keep on researching and keep on reporting back to us, it helps everyone.

--Hello doTERRA Docs and Experts,I am 26 and have been having regular menses for the first time in my whole life for the last 6 months. I attribute this to taking doTERRA's phytoestrogen daily. I had menses within the first two months of taking it and I do not experience menses if I don't take it regularly, so I am 100% sure that the phytoestrogen is encouraging menstruation. I also used to have really terrible cystic, hormonal acne that has vastly improved by taking the phytoestrogen. I would still like to clear my skin further, so I am really digging deep to find a solution that will heal me from the inside out. Melaleuca, lavender, cypress and aloe are my go-to's for healing my skin from the outside in.During my studies on cystic acne, I came across some info that lead me to believe that Saw Palmetto tincture or pills containing the extract might be good to take as a way to calm down the remaining overactive sebaceous glands which might be causing my slight, but more persistent acne. I think this is most likely due to having an excess of DHT which is also associated with low estrogen. I'm almost positive this is the main cause of most of my health issues such as amenorrhea/acne/lethargy/intense emotions…etc.I read somewhere that instead of Saw Palmetto, women should take tincture of Chaste Tree Berry and that Saw Palmetto was "just for men". I don't think I believe this, since we all have both male and female hormones in our bodies and I read many good reviews by woman taking Saw Palmetto for cystic acne. My concern is whether the phytoestrogen, oils or any other doTERRA products (well, the ones I use most often anyhow) are contraindicated for the recommended dose of Saw Palmetto extract. For cystic acne, I believe the recommended dosage is around 300mg per day. I use a lot of Melaleuca, Lavender, Orange, Lemon, Lime, OnGuard, Rosemary, Basil, Cilantro, and Cypress. I heard that if you take Saw Palmetto and eat a lot of raw garlic, or ginkgo among other things you can run the risk of thinning the blood. I also found articles which state that Saw Palmetto might decrease the effectiveness of estrogen supplements, which sounds backwards from what I know about what it does in the body, which is reducing androgens. I am assuming this allows estrogenic compounds to express within the body more effectively. Do I have that right?I found this supplement which combines the same phytoestrogen as in doTERRA's supplement (genistein) with saw palmetto: http://www.raysahelian.com/saw.htmlThis leads me to believe that in the right proprietary blend and in the right proportions, the two supplements working together might be affective for my condition. I notice that while doTERRA's supplement contains 64% isoflavone content, this supplement only contain's 40%. I'm not sure about the significance of these percents in relation to the amount of active compounds in Saw Palmetto, but I'd like to figure out the appropriate balance of compounds and appropriate dosage for Saw Palmetto and/or Chaste Berry extract in relationship to the percent of genistein (50%) in the doTERRA supplement…I think.Phwew! I'm almost all better! doTERRA has done in six months what I have been working to figure out for about 8 years of my life, if not more. Just a note- I don't have PCOS or abnormal hair growth. The only issue was acne and absent menses. Now, those two main issues are much better, but I am still looking to attain greater balance and I think adding an herb might be exactly what I need.Thank you!-BVD
