 Sounds like sun poisoning. Use geranium and black pepper on the bottom of his feet to pull out toxins and for swelling.

My 13 year old son's lip spontaneously started swelling. It looks like it's going to pop. He got a mild sunburn 2 days ago, but the swelling started today. After a few hours, the size of his lip more than doubled. I've given him lavender, lemon and peppermint and am having him ice his lip. We tried lavender topically and it burns. I have no idea what caused the swelling. He can't speak well and he's pretty miserable. Any suggestions? Thanks.
