[Everything doTERRA] Re: Treating muscle trigger points

MaryAnn, I assume you mean the trigger points such as one gets with Myofascial Pain Syndrome?  Where, when you work the hard little knot, it refers pain to another part of your body, like a spot in your neck results in pain under your shoulder blade?

I'm pretty new to essential oils, but I'm using a blend of Deep Blue (6 drops), Aroma-Touch (6 drops), Oregano (6 drops), Lavender (3 drops), Peppermint (6 drops) mixed into a high-quality Shea Butter lotion that's fairly thick on its own and becomes very slick as a massage lotion with the oils added (I usually have to heat the squirt of lotion a bit in hot water to be able to blend all the oils into it).  I only need a little touch of the lotion blend.

I use that on my neck and shoulders (I'll take it to my massage therapist next time I go and have her use it on my shoulder blades) as well as for my sciatica.  I'm massaging it in as hard as I can (as well as I can - some spots are hard to reach), and it seems to be helping me.  At a minimum, it's taking the sciatic pain out of my hips and butt, and allowing me to sleep more easily.

Hope that might help some.

Carol
