[Everything doTERRA] Re: Vetiver OIl

Hi, crazymimi~

First, you aren't alone and do not give up!  :)  Ours presented itself slightly differently but still, we were having bad DAYS and only good MOMENTS before.  Today, we have SO many wonderful days and only a few bad moments.

Before I started "doing" doTERRA full-time, I worked in a holistic Chiropractor's office as his patient educator.  I mostly coached people on nutrition and eliminating toxins.  This was great experience for the wellness coaching that I do today with doTERRA.  I experienced lots of resistance around diet and nutritional recommendations, but as soon as people started them and saw the beneficial results, they were CONVINCED!

My experience with doTERRA (my own journey included) is that most people love the thought of being able to just grab an oil or two and have their life transformed without having to make any changes.  And sometimes, this is possible.  But, most of the time, we need to fortify our bodies from the inside out and THEN the oils will work even better!  :)

So, if In Tune is "not working".  I recommend addressing some nutritional and toxicity concerns.  First, I eliminated red food dyes from our son's diet.  I also seriously limit his sugars (and foods that turn into sugar).  We do lots of easy snacks to keep him full, like: boiled eggs; hormone and preservative-free turkey bacon; any fruit; any veggie; grass-fed beef; in general, whole foods, and we eliminate (or at least limit) processed foods.  Remember: sugar causes inflammation and an inflamed gut is an inflamed brain.  You may want to read more about the gut-brain relationship.

The next thing that we did was introduce Vitamin D3.  This Vitamin is super important for so many things but especially for immunity and for brain health.  The Vitamin D3 that we use actually has Probiotics in it.  Probiotics are so important, too.  They help heal our gut of the bad bacteria that is SOOOOO common in people with cognitive issues.  So, healing the gut is paramount when addressing cognitive and even emotional issues.

Lastly, we started our little boy on IQMega.  This was a game-changer in my humble opinion.  We actually were not very diligent about it for many months.  We would do well for a few weeks and then slack off.  On 4 separate occasions we had 4 different teachers and tutors say to us some version of, "WOW! Whatever you are doing is working.  Your son's focus has really improved!  He is doing so well!"  And, the cool thing is that these teachers are not particularly natural or healthy and are definitely not privy to what we are doing in our home on a day-to-day basis.  So, I'd say that others were even observing the changes in our son.

After you have all of these foundational things in place, I really believe that you will see that "In Tune" and other oils that help with cognitive and emotional issues DO work!  :)

Best wishes to you and to your precious little one.  Remember that God says that he is "perfectly and wonderfully made".  Let's help your son be successful by giving his body what it needs to heal itself!

Blessings~

Hi, I'm a newbie to using EO and I have a question.  Is it possible to overuse Vetiver Oil for ADHD?  I've been applying a mixture of Vetiver, Lavendar and Almond Oil to my sons feet, behind both ears and back of neck, morning and night.  Occasionally I think I may be seeing a difference but mostly not.  I'm so afraid he's about to be "expelled" from daycare.  He throws awful tantrums, screams and kicks.  He has a VERY bad temper and is extremely stubborn.  He cannot sit still for even a couple of minutes, let alone focus on learning new tasks.  He is in speec therapy and occupational therapy.  His therapists are also concerned that his lack of focus is also impairing his ability to progress in these areas.  I just want to be sure I'm not "overdoing" the Vetiver.  Thank you for any imput.
