I had a client call with one just the other week. I suggested she use Melaleuca and clove oil. You can use a Q-tip if concerned with germs, but she swiped the top of the bottles, not an actual drop. First Melaleuca applied neat, directly to the sore, then a minute later the clove; same process; neat, directly on the sore. She did this 3 times the first night she got the oils, once every hour between 7-10pm, then again the next morning and following evening. The majority of her upper lip was swollen and very sore, after first application she could talk normally and was in no pain, by the next morning it was scabbed over. She followed up with lavender to help heal the chapped lips. See image attached.
