Does the cat also drink water all the time and fill the litter box unusually frequently? If so, then it's likely diabetes (like a cat of mine had). Older, male cats that are heavy are more likely to get diabetes.
-- If not, then it could be the thyroid.
It's probably easiest to make a roller to use on the pads of each paw, and then on the specific area:
For diabetes: frankincense, balance, on guard, and basil and/or coriander. If you use all 5 oils, then 6 drops each plus FCO to fill a 5 mL roller. If you only use one of basil or coriander, then 7 or 8 drops each plus FCO to fill a 5 mL roller. Roll on the pads of each paw, and over the pancreas and abdomen. Note that the pancreas is somewhat close to the tummy side of the body, high up on the abdomen by the stomach.
For thyroid: frankincense, lemongrass, and myrrh. 10 drops of each plus FCO to fill a 5 mL roller. Roll on the pads of each paw, and over the thyroid (under side of the neck on either side of the top of the spine.
