RE: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Vaccination Pain

You may also want to try Clove essential oil.  It contains Eugenol and has numbing properties.

Subject: [Everything doTERRA] Re: Vaccination Pain

When my oldest was a baby he had to get a lot of blood work done, that on top of the vacines meant a lot of needles.  His peds doc gave me a scipt for "Emla" cream.  (I know people aren't going to like this suggestion)  It is what they use in pediatric hospitals....you can ask your doc for a scipt for it.  You put a small amount on the area that he is going to get the shots in, 30-45 mins before he gets them. It totally numbs the area so he won't feel a thing.  I have since used it on all of my kids as well as on my daughters ears when she had her ears pierced and they don't feel a thing.  My youngest who is 4 just sits and watches them give him his shots.  I know it is not natural but none of the oils will take the pain away from getting the shot.  They will help afterwards but for me, I am all for having them not feel any pain during the injection and the little bit that you use I don't feel like it is going to hurt them.  Put a bandage over the cream so he does not touch it and get it in his eyes and ask the doc the best place to put it on.

I have to take my son to get his Kindergarten vaccinations. I am wondering if there is an oil that I could use on him to help with the pain before AND after.  I remember with my older child I would give Tylenol before going to get vaccinations and that seemed to help keep that pain down.
